You care so much about material and money like everybody
else. Well, I care too, but this fact doesn’t make us materialistic people.
You are materialistic if you don’t care about anything else
except money, so you won’t value other excellent rewards that are not material.
If this is you then you should know that materialistic
mentality can have negative effects in your work, relationships and in your
inner world. Let me explain those negative effects one by one.
How can materialism affect your work
If you are materialistic, your mentality will trigger you to
start projects and jobs that don’t really interest you, but you want to work on
them because they are very profitable.
If money is the only reason that is making you going on,
most probably you will give up in 2 or 3 months of hard work that doesn’t give
results.
If you weren’t materialistic and you had chosen a project
that interests you, you wouldn’t had gave up so early, because other reasons
like passion and satisfaction would had made you go on even though you didn’t
earn any money yet.
That’s why so many people out there are saying that passion is the key to success and you should choose a job you are interested about.
Materialistic people and their relationships
Materialistic mentality can make your social and intimate
life a horror too. This usually happens to women that we call gold diggers.
Gold diggers don’t care about qualities people have, instead
they go in a relationship with someone they don’t like only because he has lots
of money.
A normal woman is attracted from a wealthy man, but she is
totally attracted from him only when she likes a lot of other qualities in him
too. And she doesn’t go in a relationship with him if she doesn’t like anything
else in him except his wealth. (Read: Women are attracted to money – That’swhy)
Materialism and your happiness
It is obvious how such materialistic decisions lead someone
to be with the wrong people who don’t make him happy.
Emotions of frustration that result from giving up on a
project too early can make him feeling the most unlucky person in the Earth.
So materialism definitely leads people to depression and to
painful failures in every area of their life.
Do you still want to be a materialistic person? I hope you
were not materialistic before you read this post, but even if you were, you have
to think about it twice now, because it is really serious.
