Are you obsessed with acquiring as much information as you can?
Do you have an irrational passion about a specific topic?
If your answer is yes, do you know what happens to you if you learn too much?
This post is a warning and a motivational piece for people who enjoy learning and being informed more than they have to.
We live in the Age of Information when it takes only a quick click to come across all the information your heart desires. Even though I am writing about a terrible effect such a practice can have in you, I can't mention negative effects before I talk about positive effects of learning.
It just wouldn't be fair.
When you are hungry to learn too much about a random topic you won't be satisfied with one or 2 books that talk about it. It seems like information you found is not enough to you even though it is a great information.
While you learn a lot, your brain connects different facts and information and sometimes different disciplines in order to generate new and unique ideas that might be useful to what you do and to who you want to be.
So learning is a great factor that causes new ideas that are more excellent than existing ones. Creativity begins where the truth becomes unclear. It doesn't matter how much you learn, details can be endless, so science can't cover every question that might appear in your head, so you will be forced to think when you rich at this point.
So learning too much can make you such kind of a genius, but this isn't everything. Unfortunately learning too much has also its drawbacks that might run your productivity and your strengths.
Sometimes information overload can make you guess all the time about which is the perfect way you can do something, or what is the best method to get your things done.
Even though you are so highly motivated to do your tasks, your brain is trapped on finding the best way to act. You could be so indecisive as you procrastinate everything you want so badly to do and achieve.
You know that excellent ideas will do nothing good without any action and poor ones will reach further with great actions. But your passion has trapped you in a sad indecisiveness and procrastination.
Yes, this is a sad situation, but you don't need to always stay in such a prison. What you can do is trying to find an ultimate information that can quench your hungriness and let you focus more on actions.
The same way you fell for interesting ideas, you will also love great actions and practice and you will overcome this type of procrastination that made you suffer and hate yourself.
